The Importance of Requesting Angelic Assistance in All Things

Some of the Many Angel Feathers I've Received Over the Years

I have been working with angels for years now and have felt a deep connection to specific ones for a long time, using them in cleansing, protection, healing, asking for assistance and direction, etc. I never begin a day without asking for them to be with me, nor do I begin a healing session on myself, or anyone else, without also asking for their assistance, guidance and protection. I feel their presence with me always, with a particularly close, even physical sensation when I call upon Archangels Michael and Raphael.  Archangels Gabrielle and Uriel are also with me during my day.

A couple of days ago I received a new Kindle Touch and was playing with the wifi trying to see how it work, when a list of “recommended for you” books turned up.  I was able to download samples of the ones I chose, and chose “randomly” from the 1500 or so books listed.  Once the samples found their way, instantaneously I must say, to my device, I began reading them.  And the first one, a sample from one of Doreen Virtue’s new books,  contained the message I needed:  reminding me that angels are loving beings, always there to serve us, but that they cannot interfere in our life.  We must REQUEST their angelic assistance in order for them to help us.  And apparently I have not been asking for enough angelic assistance lately.

And then of course we must be aware of their assistance, as subtle as it may be.  We receive messages in many ways- random posts we may read, coincidences (which are really synchronicities which are sent along to us as they are needed in our lives), a song on the radio, a scene in a movie and of course, finding feathers in unusual places or circumstances.  Finding such an angel feather, whether large and very small,  is a very clear physical message to us that the angels have heard our prayers, our requests for assistance, and that they are “working on it” at this very moment.  And of course, a “thank you” is in place here.

So, sending me this book sample is apparently their way of telling me that I need to know even more than I already do, (or perhaps to just confirm what I already know), and in some way make use of their love and guidance in even more ways.

More of My Lovely Angel Feathers

This morning, during my meditation, I began once again to turn to the angels.  I have spent the last couple of weeks in a sort of private retreat -and it has been extremely healing for me on many levels.  I have also had the time to leisurely take care of myself and my own needs.  But the time has come to begin getting back to the regular routine of life, and I realized that first of all I had fears about this, and also concerns about just how I will manage -how I will get back into the swing of things.  How will I still have time for this blog, for example(!).

I asked for guidance and direction from my Guides, as I always do, and of course the wisdom to hear and understand their messages.  But then I asked for angelic assistance in moving back into things in the easiest and gentlest possible way, and for doing so with Faith and complete freedom from fear.

I felt very much at peace after this meditation, as if a great weight had been lifted, and began the rest of my day with newfound joy and a sense of wellbeing.

When I opened my terrace door to take out my laundry, right at my feet was a lovely “angel feather“, just waiting for me, telling me that the angels had heard me and were “on it”.

Angel Feather I Found This Morning - These Small Ones are Particularly Powerful Messages that we have been Heard

Later on in the morning, while working on this post, I was guided towards a post written several years ago on my India Journal Blog-which simply said:

“This morning, while meditating, I felt an extremely powerful physical presence on my right side, which to me is always the place where I feel Archangel Michael’s presence. As he is the Archangel who, among other things, removes negativity and cleanses, the following message which I received makes perfect sense coming from him:

You are being completely cleansed in preparation for the next phase of your life. Be prepared for surprises!!!”

guess sometimes the angels feel like giving us a gentle reminder every now and then, about things we’ve been told in the past which apply today as well. Since I had already asked for help, this was one of the ways they came to help me almost instantly after my request.

I am so blessed

Sometimes, Doing Nothing Can Be the Best Thing to be Doing

Most of us, especially in the West, have been trained from childhood that sitting around “doing nothing” is a complete waste of time and a definite “no-no”. Maybe even tantamount of sin.  We’ve been made to feel guilty about it for so long, that even thinking about it brings up uncomfortable feelings.  Well, nothing could be further from the truth and it is time to start seeing the idea of “doing nothing” in a different light.

The Art of Doing Nothing

There are times in life, as noted above in the lovely photo, when there simply is nothing you can do to change anything from being the way it is at the moment.  And trying to change something like that (like being sick with pneumonia), will only bring despair, frustration, anger, depression, etc., into your life.  Knowing when you are faced with such a situation is of course also something which must be learned – (if you do nothing when you should be doing something, then of course you are not assisting the Universe in moving things along for you)-but if you seriously take a look at the situation which is frustrating you at the moment, and come to the conclusion that this is definitely not something you can do anything about, then doing nothing is the best thing you can do.

You must continue to live in an attitude of gratitude, for even a difficult situation is in your life at the moment for a good reason, one which you may understand at a later date, or not.  So give thanks to God and the Universe for giving you the blessing of whatever has come into your life at the moment to upset your balance or frustrate you, and then put it aside.  Stop contemplating and thinking and trying to analyze the how’s and why’s of it.

By doing this, you are expressing your Faith in  God and the Universe to always send to you what is best for your Higher Good at the moment, and by releasing resistance, you are allowing the “thing” to more easily accomplish whatever it is meant to in your life.

A “doing nothing” time is also the perfect time to gather energy for whatever comes next. Allow yourself, with love and compassion, to enjoy this time in total acceptance.

This is also a precious time for your body, and soul, to cleanse and rejuvenate and get ready for whatever is to come.

So, is this a “do nothing” time for you?  If so, accept it and …ENJOY!  I’ve been completely doing just that for the past few days, once overcoming more than a week of “fighting it” (my illness), and have been playing computer games, watching old tv series which I love, reading “just for fun” books, and not beating myself up about not doing my yoga, meditation practice or any of the other things I “should” be doing.  And to my great pleasure, I am finally beginning to feel “human” again.

My gratitude for the blessings of these times and for the wisdom to recognize them for what they are.

Hope you will all find the time to “do nothing” and benefit from it as it was meant to be for you.  remember:

Doing Nothing is Doing Something Very Important

“Just for today I will experience all in complete acceptance, joy, gratitude and freedom from fear”.

Lotus Pond, Sarnath, India

I have been going through a very untranquil period in my life recently, feeling unbalanced, disorientated, confused, and much of this is showing up in physical symptoms of various degrees of severity.  Finding where the inbalance comes from is the easy part.Finding the way BACK to balance is more difficult, and I’ve been “working hard” at it for some time now, and seeing no results. In place of complete Faith and acceptance in joy and gratitude, Fear and doubt have slowly crept back into my life as well, to further complicate issues – emotions and thoughts which I have managed to overcome over the past years, and this in itself is disturbing. So, as I do when I find myself “stuck”, I made the decision to move inward and allow the answers to find their way to me, and, as always happens, it works! Below you will be able to read the full message as it came to me.

Just a short note….each morning, aside from chanting the 5 Reiki Prinicples with full intent, I have added the following to my morning routine as I was guided to during a meditation last year:

“Just for today I will experience all in complete acceptance, joy, gratitude and freedom from fear”

This is an extremely powerful sentence, for it requires us to be living in complete FAITH in God and the Universe, to accept all things, and to be joyful with all that comes our way. And of course, to be grateful for all these blessings. While repeating this today, I did so with full and focused intention – something I haven’t been doing lately.

When things are not going as we imagined they would, it takes full attention to and intention to these words to help us get things back into proportion and perspective, and to understand that our need to know when, and why and how simply makes our lives much more difficult.  THese are all things which should be entrusted to God and the Universe, as discussed in previous posts.  “You can have either Fear or Faith, not both”. Mutant Messages Down Under-Marlo Morgan

So when the following message came to me during my morning meditation, I once again felt the release of fear and doubt, and with this return to balanced thinking, to Faith and Acceptance, to joy and gratitude, am certain that all other things will find balance once again in my life as well.

Message from My Morning Meditation

My life is a twisted turning road and I never know what awaits me around the next bend.  But I travel this road in complete Freedom from Fear for I know without a doubt, with complete Faith in God and His loving Universe, that another wonderful exciting and beautiful surprise is waiting for me once I get around the curve.

It may be a sharp and unexpected turn and I will have to navigate it carefully and slowly,  but once I get past it, a whole new and wonderful vista appears before me once again.

I am truly blessed to have found this road of liberation and joy and love.  God is the engineer and Master builder and administrator of this road, and He has graciously given me, and everyone, free access to it. We just have to be willing to take the first step into the unknown with  Freedom from Fear, and complete acceptance and Faith in what lies ahead.

Are We Really Hearing the Messages? Faith, Prayer and Manifesting Continued

Sunset Over the Ganga- Rishikesh, India

If you’ve been following this blog you know that praying, or having focused intention , is  just another way of saying “asking for help” about what we want to manifest and always brings solutions, which start formulating themselves as soon as we’ve asked for them.  (See these two previous posts)

https://notinindia2012.wordpress.com/2012/02/06/leveraging-the-universe-manifesting-reality/

https://notinindia2012.wordpress.com/2012/02/06/manifesting-reality-part-ii-the-role-of-faith-or-how-i-find-myself-living-in-india/

The problem is, they very often don’t fit our preconceived notions of how these solutions should come about or what form they should take.  Which is why expectations in any form are a “no-no” in the realm of manifestation.  We, as human beings, can never truly imagine in our wildest dreams all that is possible for us, and it is therefore counter-productive to limit God and the Universe and Divine wisdom.

The second problem is, very often we are given messages containing answers as to how to proceed, but we are either unaware of them, or not willing to accept them even if we do hear them.

And this is the question today:  Are we really hearing the message we receive and allowing ourselves to freely move forward with the new ideas, understandings or directions we are guided towards in these messages.

Below, a personal story to reinforce the above on a practical level.

I’ve personally been through a period of intensive change and growth on a personal level, which began with the release of deep seated issues a couple of years ago during my Panchakarma detox and rejuvenation treatments in India (you can read about some of these at these links)

Insight #1

Insight #2

Insight #3

At any rate, upon returning from India, issues continued to arise and demand my attention, going back to my early childhood and infancy, and finally, to past lives.  This is not the place for writing about these things, but they will eventually find their way to the blog as well.

However, while still dealing with the last issue from an extremely traumatic past life revelation, I found myself  at my monthly healing circle, and to my great surprise, yet ANOTHER issue presented itself. But it confused me and I although I understood what was being said to me, I didn’t see how I could go about dealing with it.  I felt myself, at that moment completely overwhelmed, and looking up towards heaven, I lifted my hands and simply said “enough!…I need a rest…give me a break…this is too much for me right now”.

THAT in effect, was my prayer, my request for help.  I came home feeling exhausted, went to sleep, slept soundly and during my morning meditation, I understood exactly what needed taking care of, even how I could go about dealing with it if I chose to, but still felt this was all too much to handle right now, and decided to “let it go” for awhile.

As the week went by however, I was given the blessing of repeated messages, which I did not initially “hear” or even see as messages, until yesterday, and then it hit me.

My house had been “flooded” with leaks of all kinds.  My washing machine began to leak, my toilet bowl began to leak and even my Feng Shui fountain began to leak!  What could this all mean?  Was there a connection (obviously there was but I had to listen carefully to hear what it was).  Everything is related to flowing…water flowing…moving along easily…finding its own way to move along etc.  And none of these leaks were urgent…very gentle, not overwhelming, flooding or demanding immediate attention.

And then I got the message:  There is no issue “on my plate” at the moment which demands my immediate attention.  Whenever you feel ready, these are just gentle reminders for you that there are still “things to fix”, but in the meantime, your life will “flow gently” and easily along – giving you time to rest and contemplate the next step necessary in your journey of continued growth,.

All this in direct answer to my prayer at the healing circle of   “enough!…I need a rest…give me a break…this is too much for me right now”.

It truly does work!  We just have to do our part and pay attention!

Light love and joy

Just for Today I Will Not Worry

Shiva with Offerings-Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh

This is the first of the five Reiki Prinicples*(See end of post).  Below is a full length  article I wrote several years ago for William Rand’s International Reiki Magazine.  It discusses in full what worry is, why it is a useless expenditure of energy,  (worrying is like praying for what you don’t want – worrying is like paying interest on money you don’t have, etc), and ways and reasons to avoid it.  Faith plays a very vital part in this and I hope you will check out this article.

Just for Today I Will Not Worry

Below are a couple of additional thoughts re: the issue of Worry and the Role of Faith which perhaps may be of assistance to you.  I find “not worrying” to be one of the greatest gifts I have given myself over the past 10 years, and that it brings me great tranquility and feelings of well-being, and also makes my life a lot easier.  My wonderful Ayurvedic Doctor in Rishikesh, India, once said it very simply.  “Worrying is God’s job, not yours” (Dr. Arora).

Cultivating Faith is no different than cultivating a garden.  The more time you spend on it, the more beautifully it will grow and bring you joy.  You must weed it continually, and the weeds in the garden of Faith are Fear and Doubt.  The water and fertilizer which allow it grow are Prayer, Meditation, Patience and more than anything else, Gratitude.

Not knowing is not necessarily a bad thing.  But if you do not truly trust the Universe to provide you with exactly what you need, at exactly the right time and in exactly the right way, the “not worrying” becomes more difficult.  Cultivate Faith and then you will not be concerned about what the future holds in store for you, or be stressed by the “not knowing”, as you will be confident that what it holds for you are only good things…even if they don’t always seem to be “good” from your own human perspective at the moment.

Accepting and truly believing that all things are good…WORK ON THIS IDEA

I know that this is fairly easy to understand on a mental level, if we truly begin to work on it and think in this direction. But true application of this idea in our daily life, no matter what happens and no matter how difficult things may seem, is another thing.  The understanding of accepting all things as good must eventually come from the heart and soul , not only from the brain.  It is something which must become part of the essence of our being if we truly want to feel the amazing feeling of acceptance and the lightness and ease of living which it can bring into our lives….

*Reiki Principles with my personal editing which makes them all the more powerful for me and my students when chanted on a daily basis:

-Just for today I will not worry

-Just for today I will not get angry

-Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings

-Just for today I will love and respect everything living creature (including myself)-  LINK to another full length article

-Just for today I will do an honest day’s work (0n myself)  my daily practice (see Previous Post to see what this involves) sustains me and is the most important daily work I can do, as everyone benefits from it. It is an anchor in a churning sea-like the eye of the storm- granting me harmony in chaos and tranquility in turmoil.

Ram Jhula Sunset - Rishikesh

Know What is Good for You….and…….with no excuses, do it often!

This sounds easy to say, but how many of us truly know what is good for us?  If we have figured it out, after years of trial and error, how many times in life do we find excuses not to do this THING because we get sidetracked, are too busy, too tired, to involved with other things, etc.

I recently suffered the consequences of “not doing my thing” over a very long period of time, when I found myself with an immune system which had completely crashed.  Getting things back into balance, is alot more work than keeping  them that way in the first place!

My “thing” is what I like to call my “morning stuff” (which I will explain further on), but it is something which I have personally found to bring me the balance I need in my daily life to remain healthy on all levels.

Like someone going to the gym daily and then stopping completely-withdrawal is both physical mental and emotional… sometimes you may not have time or energy or the urge to do YOUR thing, but if you stop completely it will wreck havoc with all your systems. You may be able to cut back and still keep your balance…but don’t allow yourself the luxury of getting completely sidetracked by external matters and completely ignoring the THING that is so vital to your stability and good health and wellbeing. You may even have to force yourself at times to get down on the meditation pillow,or the yoga mat, or going to the gym, or the pool, or hugging a tree, or getting out in the garden, out walking, (even if the excuse is to walk the dog), down to the beach or on the bike or treadmill. Whatever your thing is, DO IT…regularly, with no excuses. And if you DO find that something has kept you away for a period of time, don’t let that hiatus become overextended. Days, perhaps weeks, but certainly not months!!

Be kind, compassionate and loving enough of yourself to make sure you DO YOUR THING! Often , joyfully and with gratitude.

For many reasons I had gotten away from my own daily routine, and this time it was not days, or even weeks, but almost 6 months – a true catastrophe for me on many levels.  I have been guided gently but powerfully back to my “thing” and in only 3 days have already begun to feel the results in more clarity, energy, alertness, creativity (hence the new blog), youthful enthusiasm, joy and laughter, peace of mind and gentleness of speech. And of course tranquility and stress free well being.

My thing:  my Morning Stuff, includes all of the following (if things are really going well), or as many of them as possible each morning before I begin my day in any other way:

Reiki self-treatment – up to 1 full hour-usually done while still half asleep so the time factor is less significant

Reiki Distance Healing to others:  up to 1/2 hour-same as above

Short Morning Prayer and recitation of Reiki Principles (ask for more details if this interests you) -5 minutes

Connection with my Guides, God and the Angels and to all beings-asking for guidance and direction for the coming day and wisdom to hear the messages sent me to guide and direct me – also “surrounding and filling myself with the light of love joy and protection” – 15 minutes (may be longer at times of need)

Drinking two glasses of warm water

Shaolin Massage (ask if you want more details on this stimulating waker-upper)-5 minutes

Chakra Balancing – 10 minutes

Pranayama (Yogic breathing exercises)  10-20 minutes

Meditation/Prayer Session – 20 minutes to 1 hour

Yoga – 1/2 hour

Warm Sesame Oil Massage

Hot Shower

If my day is going well, I will be up and beginning the rest of my day after 2 1/2 hours.  When time is short, I can manage with 1-1 1/2 hours, or I can leave the yoga for the afternoon (but that is usually not a good idea as it hardly ever “happens” once I’ve gotten involved in my daily activities)

So remember:

Be kind, compassionate and loving enough of yourself to make sure you DO YOUR THING! Often , with no excuses, joyfully and with gratitude.

with love light and JOY

Jane
