It’s been about 1 1/2 years since I last posted here.  There are many reasons for my absence, and truthfully, I thought I was finished with blogging.

But once again, several synchronicities have blessed me over the past several months, all leading me to this day, when, with great joy and gratitude, I return to my writing.

This past year and a half has been a true roller coaster ride…so many unbelievable things finding their way into my life…experiences, people, wisdoms…things beyond anything I could ever imagine or even dream of.

stranger than fiction

So, where to begin….

How about the fact that I turned 70 this year!  Still trying to wrap my head around that number…which basically, is all that it is…a number.  But still, all my life, even today, when I hear that someone is 70, my first thought is, “gee, that’s old!” .  And yet…I’m definitely NO!

70 birthday all together

So wrapping my head around the whole notion is an interesting process.  And it has brought me great insights, understandings and loving perceptions of who I am at this stage in my life.  I have also begun to work with other women who will find themselves at this crossroads in life and the responses have been remarkable.

I feel deeply grateful and immensely blessed to have reached this wonderful new place in my life…I don’t know where the coming posts will lead, but have a feeling that many of them will be related to this new stage in my life’s journey…and this is very exciting to me.

Wonderful family, new love, continued love affair with India, dancing more than ever before,  deepening my Reiki, Yoga and Meditation practices…all wonderful things.

…to enjoy great Indian food.

Just have to take the time to learn how to prepare it and then get busy in the kitchen. My lunch today…
Rajma, my all time favorite dahl, ginger garlic rice and butter chapatti. And of course the meal was ended with a delicious glass of steaming masala chai.

I found a job!!  I’ve been needing to get back into the work force for some time now.  Retirement is a wonderful blessing, but my financial plans were not working out as expected and I need additional income to stay independent.  Been thinking about how to do this for some time….and then this week, for reasons which will soon become clear below, I had to cancel my ticket to India for this year.  And just five minutes later, I was offered a job!!

One door ALWAYS opens when another is closed!  It’s as simple as that.

Here is my post from my India Journal blog which will explain the rest.

Today I cancelled my ticket for this years trip to India.  It was something I knew I had to do for some time but kept putting it off.  I am truly heartsick at the thought of not “coming home” to Ma Ganga for another full year, but at the same time, realize that this too is a blessing in disguise.

Although truly sad and disappointed at the moment, I’m sure this is a blessing in disguise and I remain grateful to God and joyful and accepting of all things! !

Just to clarify, I had scheduled long overdue cataract surgery for April, upon my return from India.  But the condition has worsened to the point where I can barely see out of my right eye, and the left is getting worse by the day.  So no choice.  Must be taken care of.

I know that something wonderful is waiting for me and will simply continue to enjoy each and every day to the fullest, in full acceptance joy, gratitude, Faith and Freedom from Fear. Despite the momentary disappointment and sadness, Life is definitely beautiful and full of wonderful surprises!

Best Cure for Homesickness

Punjabi Kadhi and Methi Pakora with Rice

Punjabi Kadhi and Methi Pakora with Rice

Nothing can help get past the feelings of homesickness for a place, or a person, better than a good home cooked meal which brings back fond memories of that place or person.

So today, missing India more than usual, I decided to put together this lovely dish. It was the first time I’ve ever made it and it came out truly delicious.
I used the link at the end of the post as the basis for the dish after checking out several recipes online.

Message from My Morning Meditation
laxman waterfall04

The photos in this post are all roads which I have walked in India. There were of course many more.

DSC04570

My life is a twisted turning road and I never know what awaits me around the next bend. But I travel this road in complete Freedom from Fear for I know without a doubt, with complete Faith in God and His loving Universe, that another wonderful exciting and beautiful surprise is waiting for me once I get around the curve.

It may be a sharp and unexpected turn and I will have to navigate it carefully and slowly, but once I get past it, a whole new and wonderful vista appears before me once again.

I am truly blessed to have found this road of liberation and joy and love. God is the engineer and Master builder and administrator of this road, and He has graciously given me, and everyone, free access to it. We just have to be willing to take the first step into the unknown with Freedom from Fear, and complete acceptance and Faith in what lies ahead.
