Being special

Some of us are ancient souls reincarnated once again, some of us are angelic beings who have chosen to be here for a specific reason, Some of us are human beings doing our best to make sense of our life.

Whoever we are, we are SPECIAL!

SPECIAL MEAnd we have chosen to be here, in this place, in this life, at this time for a very special reason. Understanding that reason, knowing what our special purpose here is, is vital to living a full, healthy, and complete life.
How do we know what our purpose is ? How do we know what makes us special?

Make no mistake,

each and every one of its IS special in his own way.

We begin to understand what our purpose is when we begin to understand what gives us JOY. Think of the things which you enjoyed doing and which gave you pleasure as a child. They may have been things that were different than what the other kids enjoyed doing, and at some point you stopped “doing your own thing” to fit in with the crowd. Or it could be something which your parents frowned on and so you stopped doing it to gain their approval, and love. There are many reasons for us losing touch with our purpose, and the first step is getting back to that place, feeling what it is that you are passionate about.

How do we figure that out? We begin by asking questions…

How do we express our creativity?…this is part of our passion and part of what makes us special . Perhaps our passion is helping others in some way…perhaps by teaching them. But we can teach many different things in many different ways. And we can use our creative talents to teach. If we enjoy writing and photography, we can teach just about anything using our ability to write combined with our photography. Or perhaps we have a talent for music or art,  but have a passion for healing. We can combine these and become a dance or art therapist or heal through music. Or maybe we love animals but also have a passion to heal or be of service to people in some way. How about working with autistic children or adults using horses or dolphins to help heal. Perhaps we love the water…hydrotherapy.

There is no end to the ways in which we can reconnect with our passion, our creativity and our SPECIALNESS!

The important thing here is to begin questioning ourselves, delving within, going back to the days of childhood pleasures and connecting with our passion and creative talents.  Putting them all together to create a “sweet spot” in our daily lives may not always be easy, but it is well worth the effort.

Be Unique…be Original…what makes you different is what makes you special!

Once we have discovered who we are, why we are here and what we are truly passionate about, what it is that makes us Special, and have found a way to combine that passion with our innate creative talents, we are on the way to living a satisfying, fulfilling, healthy, useful and very SPECIAL life.

And nothing will bring greater pleasure into each SPECIAL day.

And of course, remember to be grateful always for all the blessings that have been showered upon you to bring you to that wonderful SPECIAL “sweet spot”.  Don’t  forget to celebrate your uniqueness, your specialness, at every chance you get.

Celebration brings even more joy into your life, increasing your passion for what you are doing.  It is the final piece in the puzzle-

Gratitude and Celebration come hand in hand in insuring more of the same wonderful, full, special life you have created for yourself.

Much love light and JOY

…and the Awards Go To…Sunshine, Kreativ and Reader Appreciation Awards!

The time has come to finish accepting the rest of the awards I was so privileged to be nominated for.  But more important, the time has come to pass these awards on to so many deserving bloggers.  This will not be an easy post to put together.  And if for any reason I have overlooked you for any reason, please accept my apologies.  There are so many wonderful people out their sharing so much with others, it is difficult to know where to begin.

Kreativ Blogger Award

I was nominated for this by The Burnt Map.  http://theburntmap.wordpress.com/

If you love, travel, travel photography and travelogs at their supreme best, you MUST check out this blog.  I wait impatiently for each and every new post!  With much thanks to you for burning maps and thinking of me!!

In accepting the nomination I write 7 things about me and nominate 7 others.  As I’ve already written 7 things about me a couple of times before, I will rewrite one of those lists here, with my apologies.  😀

1.       My greatest joy and blessing during this sojourn on Earth is my family. My 6 amazing children and the extended family of additional sons and daughter-in-law they have brought me, and my 13 wonderful grandchildren ranging in age from 8 months to 18 years!

Me and My Kids – Five daughters, and one son-the “baby”

2.     I had the honor and privilege to meet Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo-the first Western woman to be ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist Nun.  This meeting resulted in a powerful but subtle shift in perception for me  leading to a “growth spurt” in my life’s journey. You can read about her amazing life story here:  Cave in the Snow

You can also find more information about her life’s work, her nunnery, at this website:  www.tenzinpalmo.com/

3.     I have three loving Guides who have been with me since birth (although I was forced to deny their existence on threat of punishment when I was 7 years old). I reunited with them in my 50’s through a deep meditation practice and they  have agreed to publicly reveal my pet names for them since childhood.  Kaki, Gee and Chuchibell!!

4.       I was blessed to have an audience with HH Dalai Lama in 2001, and the effects of that brief meeting are still rippling through my life to this very day.

5.       I love to play computer games rationalizing that they are good for my rapidly aging brain, but how much brain power do you need to play Bubbles?!?!?

6.       I love to dance and have been doing it in one way or another since the age of 2. For the past 35 years I have both taught and danced Israeli Folk Dancing-I currently dance 3 times  week, each session lasting about 4 hours.

7.       My one vanity is painting my fingernails!!

As to the links-I am trying to find the “Kreativ” in them-whether in inspirational photography, recipes or writing…all of the below are most certainly highly “kreativ” in their own way:

http://cauldronsandcupcakes.com/  Everything about this blog is Divinely inspired creativity!!

http://phranqueigh.wordpress.com/  Superb writing!

The Sunshine Award

This award is given to blogs that positively and creatively inspire! And so for me it is the ultimate award as this is what I hope to achieve in writing my blogs.  The fact that someone out there “felt” this energy from my blog, is the greatest form of acknowledgement and honor I can ask for.  And certainly gives me the positive energy I need to continue writing-even when I feel it is sometimes “too much”.  So a very special thank you to Gina at http://professionsforpeace.com for this nomination.  Her blog is the epitome of positive and creative inspiration, and if she wasn’t already awarded this several times, I would most definitely put her on my list.  Please do check out her blog.  You will be forever grateful that you did!!

The steps to take, preferably with JOY
1. Include the award logo somewhere in your blog.
2. Answer these 10 questions, below, for fun if you want to.
3. Nominate 10 to 12 blogs you enjoy. Or you pick the number.
4. Pay the love forward: Provide your nominee’s link in your post and comment on their blog to let them know they’ve been included and invited to participate.
5. Pay the love back with gratitude and a link to the blogger(s) who nominated you.

Below is a quote from Gina and I felt it so well written, there was no reason to try and put into my own words.  With your apologies Gina, I quote as follows:

“~I am not adding a note about each blog this time, as I have done with my past awards. I encourage you to visit and discover on your own how they deserve The Sunshine Award because they all positively and creatively inspire. Also some (or all) of these writers may choose to not participate in this award process but I still want this chance to help you, dear reader, to find these blogs and perhaps be inspired by what they contain, if you haven’t found them already. ~Gina”

The Questions:

What is your favorite color?
Red.  Has been since I can remember knowing what colors are!

What is your favorite animal?
I would say human beings, as I can find nothing to compare to the uniqueness and Diving splendor of the human being, but I know this is referring to other types of animals.  So I would probably say cat, but horse would come in a close second.

What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink?

Do you prefer Facebook or Twitter?
Facebook.  Don’t have Twitter and wish I still lived in a world where I could live without Facebook as well.  😀

What’s your passion?
Being of service.  It is the reason I am here.  Being of service in any way God feels is right for me at the moment.  My service has changed over the years, as have I as I’ve grown along my life’s journey.  I simply pray each and every day that God send those to me who are in need of my special services, for our mutual benefit.  Blogging is simply another way I find myself being of service.  And there is no doubt that there is great benefit in it for me as well.  J

What’s your favorite pattern?
It would have to be things in Nature.  Clouds, flowers, etc.

Do you prefer giving or getting presents?
I LOVE giving presents, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t also enjoy receiving them…the inner child is always alive and kicking!!

What’s your favorite number?
No idea.

Favorite day of the week?
Whatever day today is.  It is the only day I truly have, so it is my favorite!

Favorite flower?
Tough one.  There is just too much uniqueness and grandeur out there in the flower world to be able to choose. So I would have to say it is the flower I am seeing at the moment.  It is, at that moment, my favorite flower.

The Nominees:

Blessings and gratitude to all of the writers, photographers, chefs and poets in this nominated list, and beyond, who share their inner gifts with us all in this wonderful world of blogging.

Reader Appreciation Award

I was nominated for this lovely award by Rahul, probably one of the most amazing bloggers I’ve had the privilege of meeting!  A comment I sent him says it all!  “You seem like an amazing person, and still so young to have such insights! May you continue to follow your deepest soul insights…to continue to find “deep inspection” in all things…you live in an truly awesome country…my prayers and blessings for you, your writing and your life journey. May it be filled with great love, light, JOY, gratitude and Faith. I truly hope you will find your way to his blog:

How It Works:

1. Include the award logo somewhere in your blog.

2. Answer these 10 questions, below, for fun if you want to. (These are the same questions found above on the Sunshine award, so you can see the fun answers there!)

3. Nominate 10 to 12 blogs you enjoy. Or you pick the number.

4. Pay the love forward: Provide your nominee’s link in your post and comment on their blog to let them know they’ve been included and invited to participate.

Here are my nominees.  I sincerely appreciate their taking the time to share their insights, inspirations, wisdom, poetry, stories, photography and other talents, and for finding their way into my life via the wonderful world of blogging! And as above, some (or all) of these writers may choose to not participate in this award process but I still want this chance to help you, dear reader, to find these blogs and perhaps be inspired by what they contain, if you haven’t found them already.
