Sun Salutations-Mediterranean Shore on a Wintry Day

Mediterranean Beach

Mediterranean Beach

A couple of days ago the sun was shining brilliantly as it does very often here in the winter months in Israel.  Despite low temperatures, the Mediterranean sun is always a joy.  A bad storm was predicted and expected to last for most of the week, so I decided to take advantage of the weather and went down to the shore to walk and do some yoga.  It was glorious, until the storm clouds began to roll in.

Here is a story in pictures of the few hours I spent there.

On the way up the beach, to the North, the wind was at my back I barely felt the effort of walking the couple of kilometers.  As the clouds started to thicken I decided to head back.

Although there was a brisk wind in my face on the way back making the return walk a challenge, the walk INTO the warming sun was delightful.  Even in winter, the sun here is comfortable as well as warming although through to my joints.  At one point, despite the wind, I had to remove a couple of layers of clothing.

While relaxing over a cup of coffee, the clouds started to move South and I realized it was time to head home before the storm hit.

Always, but always, listen to your inner voice. It will never steer you in the wrong direction.

hard decisions

“The Soul Always Knows What to do to Heal Itself. The Challenge is to Silence the Mind”

My life has been turned up side down and inside out with the ending of a relationship. There was every logical reason in the world to continue with the relationship…it appeared to be all a relationship should and could be.  But deep down inside, for many months now, I have been hearing a small voice telling me “it is not meant to be”.  You may remember all the posts about the improbable series of “same card” events (and since the last time I wrote, which was the 5th time it had happened, it has happened TWO MORE TIMES).

Well, this was all part of the Universe doing its bit to get me to pay attention to what my soul has known for a long time, but my mind was trying to prove it “knew better”.

IT DOESN’T NOT WORK!  EVER!

We cause ourselves unnecessary suffering and grief when we choose to “not hear” or insist that what we do hear cannot be right.  We start second guessing that inner wisdom, only to find, once more, that it was right all along.

Will it be different next time?  I’d like to think it will…but we are only human beings.  And in many instances we are not top students in the school of life.

So next time will bring its own lessons, and only time will tell how easily they will be learned.

Life is good.  I am blessed to have had this relationship and blessed by all it has taught me about myself.  It has changed me for the better and I am a happier person for having been in the relationship.  We just had completely different expectations and needs from a relationship and nothing could make that great difference in perspective change.

I am deeply grateful for the wonderful man who charged surprisingly into my life, turned things around and upside down and brought me to this new place in my life, far richer than I was before he came along. He taught me things about myself, showed me things about myself, which I have never before been willing to learn or see-no matter who tried to teach me. Leaving has been one of the THE most difficult things I have ever been guided to do in my life, but I have nothing but beautiful memories to cherish forever, and hopefully, over time, we will be able to get to the place where we can be friends.

with much LOVE, Light and JOY

Not In India But Life Is Still Beautiful

Waiting at the Bus Stop To Tel Aviv

Waiting at the Bus Stop To Tel Aviv

It can be very daunting coming back to “reality” after spending an extended period of time in India.  But to my surprise, it is even harder coming back to Earth after a short trip (I was only there 6 weeks this year instead of my usual 3-6 months).

So I made an effort to get out and about as soon as possible and had a lovely couple of days just a week after coming home.  A day trip to the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv

and then just a couple of days later, a walk around  near my house.  The weather was beautiful, the air fresh and clean, and of course the sights surprising and wonderful at every turn.  Just wanted to share some of these scenes with you here.

Believe it or not, I found this Paradise just five minutes from my house.

DSC01111

I have been home from India for 3 weeks now and finally beginning to settle back into life’s daily routine.  There have been significant life changes since arriving home, which I will be writing about shortly, but to help ease my return to the reality here at home, I always feel the need to get back to Nature-something I live with daily, each moment, during my sojourns in India. I just open my eyes in the morning and find myself surrounded by the beauties of Nature.

Here at home, in the middle of the city, this is not always easy to find, and in the past always found myself needing to drive long distances to get close to Nature.

Just a couple of days ago, I went out with the intent of walking along the wintry beach…but the weather was really threatening and didn’t want to get caught in a storm while at the shore.  So decided to look for a walking path in a local  park which I had heard of.  I never did find the walking path, but DID find this amazing Paradise just a surprising 5 minute drive from my house.  Hope you will enjoy the full gallery at the end of the post

I have already been back a second time, and will be taking full advantage of this wonderful blessing as long as the winter rainy season continues to keep it green and full of water. And whatever you may say about beautiful blue skies, nothing compares to the artistry of a cloudy sky!

I am always always blessed.
